Costa Rica Car Rentals -Costa Rica TransportationJaco Beach is a aparently small town with only one main street so, walking is always a good option for getting around. However, in the midday heat you will want to consider grabing one of the numerous taxis (distinguished by red color) found around town. Taxi FaresTaxis fares are very low priced and you can either negotiate a price before you get in the taxi or simply rely on the meter. Any trip within town will not be more than $1. 50 (800 colones). If headed to near by Hermosa Beach, a taxi ride will cost you 2000 colones if you negotiate or 2500-3000. if you use the meter. Rental CarsAs for rentals, you will not need a car if staying exclusively in Jaco ; however, if you would like to make day trips to Manuel Antonio National Park etc. you will to either use public buses or rent a car. There are various international companies to rent : National Rent-a-Car - situated next to the first bridge as you head north down the main road. 21+ for rental - US$24 per day or US$235 per week. Payless Car Rental: Location: 500 feet north of Banco Nacional and across from Testaurante La Ostra. Rentals: rates from US$25 per day to US$150 per week. Zuma Rent-a-Car: Location: 300 feet north of Banco Nacional inside Centro Comercial el Paso. Cars for rates from US$250 per week. Jeeps US$325 insurance included.
